.hack//G.U. TRILOGY
Just got my copy of .hack//G.U. TRILOGY(blu-ray version)
Looks all fancy and nice.
I'll decide whether to sub this after I finish watching it.
Then again... I probably need to find a way to rip blu-ray first...
UPDATE: Just finished watching the movie. It's quite good, but it felt brief and disconnected(you'll probably feel the same if you've played the game)...
They did a great job trying to squeeze 60-100 hours of game content into a 2 hours movie. They could've tried to make it into a three parts movie(a.k.a. a TRILOGY), but I doubt it would help that much in this case(60 hours vs 6 hours isn't that much better than 60 hours vs 2 hours).
Story-wise, the primary focuse in this movie is the emotional development between Haseo and Atoli, Ovan is a big focus too. Some story lines from the game were altered, especially the parts on how Haseo got each of his "forms". Some characters like Endrance and Sakubo didn't even make an appearance(can't blame them for that)...
The CG was absolutely beautiful, they didn't reuse any cut-scene from the game at all. Everything is new, and better than ever. But I guess a major contributing factor is the fact that I'm watching this in 1080i... while the original PS2 games play in 480i...
I guess I'll try to squeeze some time to sub this. After I resolve some technical difficulties...
The book that came with it... pretty thick too. Introduction to the .hack world I guess.
There's my hand, opening up the book...
Mini poster. One of the inserts in the blu-ray case.
Mini poster #2! Some promotional stuff.
The back of mini poster #2! More promotional stuff. Ooooh... it's code geass! (Can't wait for season 2)...
And there you have it!
Konata and Kagami cosplayed as Saber and Rin (Nendoroid)
Nendoroid of Kagami and Konata from Lucky Star cosplayed as Saber and Rin from Fate/Stay Night. Now, if you haven't watched Lucky Star, you probably won't recognize them as Kagami and Konata... But if you have, the features are striking.
I wasn't that big of a fan of the nendoroid series, but I'll mark this down in my "must have" list.

AYAKASHI anime
I'm probably really behind on anime news... I didn't know about this anime until I saw the comments on a post I wrote about a year ago...
Apparently, AYAKASHI IS now being made into an anime.
But judging from the first couple of episodes, it didn't quite live up to what I had hoped...
The open theme song in the game, which IMHO is one of the best opening theme songs I've heard, is absent in the anime. In its place, a mediocre opening sequence I couldn't bare myself to watch... Licensing issues, perhaps? Then again, the anime kept all the BGMs...
Some of the characters are barely recognizable. This may or may not be a bad thing. It departs away from the game, but it also feels refreshing(and they do look quite good, none the less).
The anime IS keeping itself fairly close to the original on its story. However, due to its not-so-adequate length(13 episodes), it'll probably feel like a brief summary rather than a full anime series to those who have played the game...
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku SUPER Premium BOX
Just received my pre-ordered copy of "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku SUPER Premium BOX", the thing cost me an arm and a leg, but it's loaded with goodies, and it's making me a very happy man!
The box, looks delicious, makes you wanna take a bite out of it.
The back of the box, got colorful pictures.
The pre-order special figurine, didn't expect much, and I'm sure glad I didn't.
This is one of those collector's items that aren't aesthetically pleasing.
This is one of those collector's items I'm not sure what to do with.
I think these are posters, but they are quite small, you'll probably have to sqeeze your eyes to see them if you hang them on the wall.
Other than the game itself, this is my favorite out of the bunch! It's a pretty picture book featuring Haruhi and the gang!
The game itself! ... Well, it's actually just the case, but it's close enough.
Anyhow, I'll post out more stuff once I actually get started on the game(or when I finish it)...
Mobile Suit Gundam OO (Double O)
It'll be directed by Mizushima Seiji, who was also the director of Fullmetal Alchemist, and the screenwriter will be Kuroda Yousuke, who was also the writer for Honey and Clover(interesting combination).
Something to look forward to in fall.
A little disappointed that it's not in the UC calendar though...
