One important attribute that makes KEY games so appealing is their music. It's not exagerating to say that, without their music, KEY would have not nearly as much fame as they have now.
Even without playing the games, just by listening to some of their theme songs can make people feel warm and fuzzy inside. Examples include Tori no Uta(鳥の詩, or A Bird's Song) from AIR, and Chiisa na te no hira(小さなてのひら, or The Palm of a Small Hand) from CLANNAD.
Much of the credit goes to Maeda Jun(麻枝准), a composer and writer from KEY. She is the writer of Kanon, AIR, and CLANND. She's also the composer and writer responsible for most of their theme songs and background music. It's just amazing how powerful(emotionally) some of her works are.
And this is the ending of Kanon(the game and the 2006 anime), Kaze no Tadoritsuku Basho(風の辿り着く場所, or Where the Wind Arrives at).
| 風の辿り着く場所 足下に風 光が舞った 日常にだけ積もったぶんの奇跡が 見上げれば雲も遠くへの帰路 幼い日の自分よりも早く 雪解けを待っていた子供のように 走る 光る滴 飛び跳ねてる 明日の出会いさえ気づかずにいる 季節たちの中で輝いているよ 世界中にはどんな想いも叶う日がくる ずっと旅をしてゆく僕らに 小さな精たち舞い降りる 出会った場所も緑をなして ゆるやかにも流れる時に委ねて 遙かに仰ぐ町並みの路地 幼い日の自分がまだ駆ける あの遊歩道から聞こえてくる 木々の声や日々のざわめきに似た 奇跡の足音に気づいたら こんなにまた強くなれるふたりだね 世界中溢れる想いに風が向いてる ずっとこんなこと繰り返して さよならのない旅をする | Kaze no Tadoritsuku Basho ashi moto ni kaze hikari ga matta nichijou ni dake tsumotta bun no kiseki ga miagereba kumo mo tooku e no kiro osanai hi no jibun yori mo hayaku yukidoke wo matte ita kodomo no youni hashiru hikaru shizuku tobi haneteru asu no deai sae kizukazu ni iru kisetsutachi no naka de kagayaiteiru yo sekaichuu ni wa donna omoi mo kanau hi ga kuru zutto tabi wo shiteyuku bokura ni chiisana sei tachi mai oriru deatta bashou mo modori wo nashite yuruyaka ni mo nagareru toki ni yuanete haruka ni aogu machi nami no roji osanai hi no jibun ga mada kakeru ano yuuhodou kara kikoete kuru kigi no koe ya hibi no zawameki ni nita kizeki no ashi oto ni kizuitara konna ni mata tsuyoku nareru futari dane sekaichuu afureru omoi ni kaze ga fuiteru zutto konna koto kurikaishite sayorana no nai tabi wo suru |

I've had this song a while now (=downloaded it myself), and there is this strange quirk at the end of this song that sounds strangely like rapping (in English). Now, even though I'm Taiwanese, I've heard a good amount of black music (hip-hop, rap, soul) and I've got a good number of black friends, and the end of this song sounds a lot like that. Someone going to confirm this for me?
_Not that I don't like this song; I listen to it all the time. There's just this one part in the end that doesn't really fit~~~
“Ha! Why should we let others dictate our lives? They have no base for their authority but their own words. You may think you are walking along the path given to you when you obey them, but are you really working within the system, or are you letting the system work you?”
–Skyros
Ah, I see what you mean by that... It sounds more hiphop-ish than rap-like. But, you're right. That was really wierd...
Hey luperry youwouldnt happen to know where I can find the 2006 verson of the anime would you?
@DNAnime: http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/774.html
take your pick. ^^
Kanon(2006) is turning out alrite compared to the older version ^.^ this remake is grat ^.^ + the audio/music is just perfect
Also this song has kind of a techno feel to it with the way certain beats happen in sectiions which is realy like how I like my Japanese Music to sowund to my ears ^.^
"Someone told me to get a life but I haven't found one on e-Bay yet."
Why are there Google Ads on your blog posts now?
@Anonymous: I had them since the beginning. they are the financial support of this site.
Hello Lu. I have this question I wanted to ask you for a long time: what subbing program do you use. I'm trying to find a program that can sync well with the video output (preferably with video feed while subbing) and can use good fonts, colours and text positioning. seeing your subbed series made me notice how well the text subject works out for you. can you please reveal your software?
Wow the full version is awesome! I love key music.
By the way lu, when you have some time, can you upload No rock no life? The Sumomomo ED theme
@Anonymous: I use aegisub. ^^
@kaizo:
the single isn't released yet, I'm waiting for that myself, so I can complete the ED karaoke...
Argh Didn't remember it was released the 22th.
My fault
thanx Lu! I'll check into that program.

If u have it can u upload it pls
thnx
Do you have the lyrics of this song? I've been looking everywhere but found nothing
@Kaizo: it's up
Thanks! :D
Is the "rap" part sung by a male or female? Just wondering.
hey lu could you upload the full opening theme from keichi artist is kana Yazumi nad the song is called be strong it's the first ost for the show thanks!
Geez I hate the rap part...someone should remake that song and remove the rap; just let the song loop once on the chorus and end or something. I know it serves as a bridge but it's so ugly!
