Finished the game. No

Finished the game. No errors, crashes or sound issues at all.

As for my "Undubbed" Naruto game, I did find one problem and thats the voice of a charecter who is in the Jap version and not in the english version which comes up every now and then on the wrong charecter. But ofcourse that isn't of any concern to .Hack G.U.

In other words The Dot hack G.U "Undubbing method" seems to be working 100%.

Enjoy!
destruktion

Guide to Undubbing .hack//G.U.Vol 1

I will go ahead and post a Dummies guide here as well, to prevent my AIM from overflooding with questions.

For those that can get the Japanese version on their computer, here is the process I used to successfully make the ISO:

1. US ISO extracted with Gnie Experimental Rebuild Tool. (To get it, go to http://www.alucard.cc and then go to Downloads ==} Playstation 2 ==} PS2 Tools ==} Experimental Plugin Ext/Rebuilder v1.05. You will need to register a free account first.)

a. select ''Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi'' from the ''Plugins'' drop down menu.
b. Click the ''Open'' button and select the US ISO.
c. Click ''Extract LBA''.
d. Click ''Extract File''.

2. Put the ''filelist.txt'' file into the new folder created by Gnie from the extraction process; this new folder will begin with the ''@'' symbol, followed by the name of the ISO. ''filelist.txt'' can be found in the same folder as the ISO.

3. Navigate to the (@folder)/DATA folder.

4. Open the Japanese ISO with WinRAR and navigate to the DATA folder.

5. Select every file with the extension ''.AFS'' in WinRAR, and drag them into the (@folder)/DATA folder, overwriting the US ''.AFS'' files.

6. Navigate to the (@folder)/PSS/EV folder, then to the PSS ==} EV folder of the Japanese ISO in WinRAR.

7. Select all the files in this folder in WinRAR, then drag them into the (@folder)/PSS/EV folder. The Japanese version has one more ''.PSS'' file in this folder than the American version. It shouldn't make a difference whether you include this file or not; I did not include it.

8. Navigate to the (@folder)/PSS/NEWS folder, then to the PSS ==} NEWS folder of the Japanese ISO in WinRAR.

9. (Optional) Select all the files in this folder in WinRAR, then drag them into the (@folder)/PSS/NEWS folder. These are the movie files for the webpage news bit. Note that they are not subtitled, so some people may not wish to overwrite the English files with them.

10. Navigate to the (@folder)/PSS/ONLINE folder, then to the PSS ==} ONLINE folder of the Japanese ISO in WinRAR.

11. (Optional) Select all the files in this folder in WinRAR, then drag them into the (@folder)/PSS/ONLINE folder. These are the movie files for the Online Jack episodes. Note that they are not subtitled, so some people may not wish to overwrite the English files with them.

12. You can replace the files ''LOGO_C.PSS'' and ''LP1000.PSS'' in the (@folder)/PSS folder with the original Japanese files if you wish, but there is little-to-no difference between them and the audio is the same. These are the files for the opening movie and opening logo.

13. Now the ISO must be rebuilt. To do this, I used CDGenPS2, which can be downloaded from the 4th post of this thread: http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/showthread.php?t=29744&highlight=cdgenps2 (you must register for a free account at the ps2-scene forums). Here is the process for rebuilding:

a. Remember the ''filelist.txt'' file that we moved? This part is why we moved it. Click ''Advanced'' ==} ''Import Tree File, from IsoBuster''. Open the ''filelist.txt'' file inside the (@folder). Now click the bullet by ''Import Ordered by LBA (no fix)'', then hit OK. This should display the contents of the ISO.
b. Click the ''VOL'' button on the left panel, and by ''Name'' enter ''SLUS_212.58'', without quotes. This must be entered correctly, or the game will not work.
c. Now click on ''File'' ==} ''Save Image''. Save as an ISO with whatever name you choose. Note that this program is known for appearing to have locked up while it is writing images. Just give it a few minutes to do its thing.

If all has gone well, you should now have an ISO image of the US version of .hack//G.U. with Japanese voice work, ready for burning or dumping to HDL! I have not had any audio syncing issues so far; hopefully there won't be any.

Notes: If you are looking for a Torrent of the Japanese .hack//G.U., they have it at http://www.todotorrents.com. This was the only one I could find. / For those interested, PSS files are playable with Windows Media Player.

You my friend have to be the dumbest of all dumb people I have ever read a post by.

I have this site on my favs and after posting about finding out how to "undub" the game and solve all my own problems like converting the saves, I didn't need to comeback here again. But it so happened to be that I was sitting on my computer at 11pm on a Wed with nothing to do but browse through my favs and recheck my old posts on such random forums to see nothing but some retarded kid who thinks he knows all, bashing me for making everybody a favour (or at least all the jap voice fans) by stating that it is infact possible to undubb games which are actually pretty darn easy if your IQ isn't below 50 such as a person like yourself.

Anyway, for all the kids with a mentality of at least over the age of 15 unlike the kid with the post above me who DO want to learn and or get a copy of G.U "Undubbed" AIM me tommorow around 1pm EST (AIM:zxninvasion) , thats about the time I get off of work. I have also just undubbed Naruto_Uzumaki_Chronicles if your a fan of that one as well.

Thank you,
destruktion

P.S I will go ahead and register myself to this community to stop that kid from crying so much as well.

Umm no not really
A nameless unregistered person posts once about the miracle solution to the problem then doesn't reveal it for two weeks
whats someone supposed to think
When you've participated on internet for awhile you learn that some people will say/do anything to get attention

I still don't believe you but maybe if some who has posted a while on this forum confirms it than we'll see
There are programs which can convert saves but you need something like codebraker
I think he's blowing out his ass with this dub thing
Sorry to bust your cherry but Dot hack G.U isn't the only game I've Undubbed buddy.

All you need is a modded PS2, Dot hack G.U vol 1 ENG and vol 1 JAP . Locate and crack the video/Audio files on the Eng version and replace them with the Japanese Vid/Aud files.

I bet that makes you feel pretty stupid huh Shuhei.

Hasuro, if you already have a modded ps2 I can upload My Undubbed version to you through FTP or teach you how to do it if you got your hands on both ENG and JAP versions. AIM is zxninvasion .

Maybe in backstory no, but in execution they do use magic

And I thought that the world ran on Chim Chims?(Sounds kinda cute but is actually kinda morbid when you think about it)

I thought steamgunners did not use magic, but instead used *gasp* steam?

If you read the backround info for the world in game, it says that the world was pretty much divided between magic and steam.

He can use a long range attack(wich can attack 2 different enemies) and a close range one with the blades on his pistol it's not known how you'll be able to choose between each(probably holding L1 to get ranged attacks)
The X-Form is different from the steamgunner because it uses ammo instead of magic(mana, ether......shit I forget what its called in this game)
