Figure

Konata and Kagami cosplayed as Saber and Rin (Nendoroid)

Nendoroid of Kagami and Konata from Lucky Star cosplayed as Saber and Rin from Fate/Stay Night. Now, if you haven't watched Lucky Star, you probably won't recognize them as Kagami and Konata... But if you have, the features are striking. Laughing

I wasn't that big of a fan of the nendoroid series, but I'll mark this down in my "must have" list.

1/7 Etna by Griffon

This is the limited edition(?) 1/7 figure of Etna from Disgaea brought to you by Griffon, which I pre-ordered a couple of months ago. Laughing

The figure is gorgeous, probably the best looking figure of Etna(not many of them out there) I've seen so far. It comes with a base, but it looks horrible in comparison with the figure itself...

Fate/Stay Night Réalta Nua and bust figures

Just received my copy of Fate/Stay Night Réalta Nua for the PS2 by mail today. Since it's the "extra edition", plus it was "pre-ordered"(I got it on yahoo auctions japan actually), it also comes with the PSP card game, and the Saber bust figure.

The game is basically a port of the PC version(the visual novel) with some extra scenes and full voice. But since I never bought the PC version, thought this might be my chance to "own" Fate/Stay Night. Cool

The PSP game is actually a mini game included with Fate/Hollow Ataraxia on the PC, this time it comes as a separate game, though I'm yet to see anywhere to sell it independently by itself, so you would have to get the PS2 game too if you want it. If I recall from the PC version, the card game is actually pretty complex, in some way resembles Mahjong, where you have to form your hand to a certain pattern in order to win. It's actually pretty fun, if only I can get a PSP somewhere to try it out(that's right, I don't have a PSP, yet I have a PSP game in my hands)....

The bust figure is pretty neat. It's Saber shaped like a chalice. It's one of the figures out of a set of five, and to tell you the truth, I already have the other four, plus an extra Saber.

There are actually two versions to the figures, the campaign version and the capsule version. The campaign versions are ones that was included with certain magazines, and in this case, the Saber figure was included with the PS2 game. The capsule versions are ones where you can purchase from toy vending machines, or gashapon. Other than the fact that dark Saber(she's the evil Saber who only appeared in the game) does not have a campaign version, the other differences are mostly color variations, like the weapons on the capsule versions have blood stains, whereas the campaign versions are squeaky clean. A few major differences include the color of the shoulder armors(?) on the Saber figure, Ilya's hat(the campaign version has her hat glued to her head), and Rider's mask(the capsule version has no mask). Both the campaign version and the capsule version are limited editions. Other than my blue Saber, all my other ones are the capsule versions.

Considering that they(the capsules) were sold for 300 yen each, I'm really surprised by the quality of these little figures. Though you can't compare them to those $50 1:6 figures, they are still fairly detailed and well made. There is no deformed face or anything like that.

Now since I have one extra Saber, if anyone wants the white Saber(I'm keeping the blue one), drop me a message, or send me an email, I'll put it on ebay and you can have it for 5 bucks(that's less than how much I got it for), postage extra. Wink

The first commercial Suzumiya Haruhi figure(that is worthwhile mentioning)!

OOOH! This is great, I've been waiting for something like this(though I liked the bunny suit Suzumiya Haruhi better), a pre-painted Suzumiya figure from Max Factory(not a resin kit).

Great expression(very important. looking at someone else who is dressed like Haruhi would be a really strange feeling) and lots of details(you can even change the arm band, from "Super Director" to "Danchou"). And it's DIRT CHEAP! Amazon hasn't listed out the price yet, but it's listed for ¥3990 on amiami, and they have already stopped accepting pre-orders(well, only Japanese residents can order from amiami anyways...). Cool

Suzumiya Haruhi bunny suit figure

Though this is not a commercial product, I find this very VERY impressive(then again, I'm yet to see a commercially available Haruhi figure this good)...

The sculptor sold 200 of them(as resin cast kits) in the World Hobby Festival on July 30th. Only if I could time travel and teleport...

Kudos to xxx(his alias on his blog).
