If you downloaded LuPerry's .hack//Roots subs, you probably have to make sure you have the latest CCCP and have subtitles turned on in either Media Player Classic or Zoom Player. When re-installing CCCP, I'd make sure Media Player Classic is the program that plays the .MKV's on default.

In Media Player Classic, go to Options, then Playback, make sure Auto-load Audio files and Auto-load subtitles ARE checked. That's all I can think of at the moment.

i'm using zoom-player, and i have the 2007 updated cccp, and dot hack roots is the only one of my animes that stutters, you know if a dvd is damages it gets lil pauses in it like stuttering, .. never happened in any of the hq or lq anime i've gotten,  soo any ideas of fixing it?

also tried it in Vmp,,  still stuttered .. tcmp it crashed , divx cant see mvk soo meh

try uninstalling all your other codecs and reinstalling ccc pack

mine stuttered too, so i uninstalled all my codecs and reinstalled CCC pack then opened it in WMPlayer2 and it worked perfectly

to find wmplayer2 you may be able to go to start -> run and type "wmplayer2" but i havent tried that

you can browse to it by going to your hard drive, then programs files, then windows media player, then opening wmplayer2.exe
