I saw it. Haseo's voice was different from the game. though...

I didnt see it yet. I read it was Andrew Francis that was now doing Haseo's voice, all i can remember from this guy was Dilandau's voice in Escaflowne ~_~;; C r e e p y ~

The voices are different from the game. Though they do seem to fit. (Game is better) Phyllo's voice is higher that I thought it'd be. Tawaraya is now Tawalaya.

I dunno, my VCR crapped out in the first 5-10 minutes, and that is all I saw.

@Exotahu: lol, VCR... If the game's voice is better, than my expectations are pretty low now. I usually think the engish in a series is just as good, if not better than it's japanese counterpart, but in this case, the japanese ver takes the cake.

I must say im very suprised after watching it, i still prefer the jpn version but they didnt screwed it up as much as i tought. @Morganna: appreciate the offer, but I have no intention of seeing the english version, I don't want to take the chance that I'll be disgusted with it as I am the english version of vol 1. The game's great, but The japanese voices dominate the english, which really gets under my skin. I'm so used to english being on par with the japanese that this is almost a letdown of my hopes for an english competitor.

Everyone, please just watch the full english dubbed version and then form your opinion about the show. How can some of you decide not to watch the WHOLE series on only seeing the first two episodes. If you have an opinion about a the japanese voices, its because you watched the ENTIRE series. Also, if any of you are basing your opinion off the youtube recording, you have NO IDEA what the voices are really like. I am working on the series and believe that it only gets better with time. You also have to understand that the english voice actors are never told to listen to the original voices. And never told to try and be like them. They are auditioned with an originaI voice they have created, that they feel is right for the character. Just try to notice the acting and how it matches the character 'IN ENGLISH', not how unsimilar the voices are to the japanese (or the video game, for that matter). I mean, just give it a chance!!!

All the Va's on the show got all 26 episodes of the japanese version, and it was fansubbed by LuPerry. Didnt notice that till about 5 minutes ago

@DeepThroat GreyFox: Though I still don't really believe you(Theres no real way to prove it,save from recording something totattly random and stupid in your characters voicelike "I've got Bannana Fingers!!!!".Though I would probably do the same thing in a VA's position, connect with the audience that is) It would kinda cool(Yet strange)if Lu's subs were used

How many episodes of the english dub have you guys seen so far? What do you think of the main voices? Haseo, Phyllo, Shino Ovan...What are your thoughts?

@Deepthroat Grefox: I watched part of 1st ep (had to record it for a friend) but don't really plan to watch it(unless I stumble on it ....... at 5 am) not that I don't like it I just don't have the attention span to watch the same thing twice

When the VA's audition for the characters, they haven't heard any of the japanese dub. The producers make a decision on what voice they feel best suites the character. After the audition process, a few weeks later, the VA is told he's got the part. The first 4 scripts, as well as the original japanese dub is made available at the studio. If any of the VA's choose to pick it up is another thing. A lot of VAs don't. I did..
When the VA shows up on the first day, they are played their original audition that actually got them the part. The audition that was recorded before they even knew what the series was about, let alone had listened to a dub. So ya... Thats why. :P
