Like alot of people, I am looking for some good suggestions on what to watch. There are so many anime out there and I need to prioritize ;) Lets see.. I'll start this off with a list of my own that I have found most enjoyable. Gungrave My top 10 list pretty much, although it's out of order. ;) |

If you liked Elfen Lied, I think you'll enjoy "Higurashi no naku koro ni"(where the cidera cry), 19 eps so far. Great show that's hysterically fun, and just as creepy as (if not more than) it is fun!
The episodes tells the tale of the cursed town Hinamizawa, therefor, in many eps, you will find time's gone back to an earlier point, but making things happen differently, or simply letting you follow another person through the chain of events. Then little by little, the mysteries unravels, making this painfully exiting to wait for the new eps sometimes.
Now, since you watched and liked Elfen Lied im sure you'll have no problem with the, "more disturbing" scenes of this anime.
However, everyone else, If you cant stand even the thought of someone having their fingernails torn of by torture (picked one of the worst scenes), do NOT watch this anime.
Aside from that, I agree with you that Bleach, the .hacks and Elfen Lied are great shows!
I'll just finish this post since its getting really long and post a new one with my top anime >_>

Heres a couple of "must see"s:
Blood+ action, gore, vampires, great story, realistic
Fruits Basket humor, school, humor, comedy, humor
Red VS Blue* action, comedy, humor, war
((*Note: Not really an anime, Its an seire made from Halo recoring and voice acting, but its awsome! Theres something anime-like about the whole serie, over 60 eps so far. Just adding this to make sure some doesnt miss something real fun; they are NOT just running around shooting everyone, although it happens from time to time.))

A most excellent list you've got here specially RvB
Only thing I've got to add is BECK a anime bout a strugling rock band trying to make its way to the top.
The story focuses of Tanaka Yukio (AKA Koyuki) who up till now only listened to J-Pop and was not that popular. Until one day he runs into an American, Ryuusuke, and his frankenstein like dog, Beck.
Koyuki then begins to get into Rock and even begins to play the guitar.
It has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard done by the seiyuus themselves (Helped along by the Beat Crusader) doing covers of a few indie japanese groups. It also has some of the most memorable characters and the Engrish thats through in here and there adds alot of humor.

Elfen lied- it has nudity, lots of blood ,body parts torn off ,and gore, a nice story as well..its worth seeing...
everything you see could be a lie..information you learn could be false...to truely live life you need to find out for yourself.........oh and i like anime!!

Thank you Shuhei! I'll definitely check out BECK, gonna try Ergo Proxy, and maybe Fate/Stay Night to if I can find them.. Know of any good sites? (Whoops.. that would make the 6th 7th and 8th anime I'm watching now.. New record! XD)

Elfen Lied made a great series! Pretty scary how human the mind works, isn't it..?
If you liked Elfen Lied you gotta see "Higurashi no naku koro ni"!
While its not about the same pain Elfen's about, it got a really scary storyline, everyones selfish reasons for doing everything, once again this creepy scariness about the human mind. Everyone in these series look so innocent, and yet everyone turns out to be the opposite! That's really creepy..
I'm not gonna tell who's gonna do what, but just try to imagine any of those main characters killing someone, you simply cant!
