Well after a little (ok a lot) of trial and error I finally figured out the requirements for The Books of Ryu(I'm not sure if its still called this but you know what I mean, the things that let you unlock bgms, wallpapers, and in game movies) Book 1: I'm pretty sure this is how many battles you've been in and how many fields and dungeon lvls you've gone through, Pretty much if you beat the game this book is already done Book 2: Another easy one, Just collect alot of money and give stuf to your party members to make them happy Book 3: Don't know this one but for me it was finished by the end of the game so it was easy Book 4: Well here's the first hard one and boy is it hard you have to collect one of each item in the game a very hard one for those of us who can't read japanese Book 5: This is how long you've played the game so just leave your ps2 on for a few hours (maybe a day or 2) Book 6: Your arena status so go kick some PvP ass Book 7: Ok I'm pretty sure that this is either types of monsters encountered(92% sure) or quests from thos little npc guys around town(3%) Book 8: Don't know this one either but if you finish all the quest missions givin by the quest npc and all the fields given to you by the forum or email it'll be complete If I'm not sure about one of these its because by the typ I finished the game the bar had been filled so i couldn't test them so if anyone could correct me that would be great |

haha me too but i decided that 2 hours of trial and error was far less painful
btw I've just confirmed it Book 7 is all the monsters heres a list

@Chaos: ya but you gotta think of it like your in the middle of Times Square with thousands of people around and you scream "Help, help, o please dear god help!!" chance are slim that your gonna find a cop or just a good samaritin to help you thats why I like these small forums better.
Btw I'm pretty sure it has to be in vol 1 considering its the only way to find Cernunnos

i think i did it, replay to all the BBS posts and you should get new adrreses to met which/wizad NPCs do it 3 times and theres a new quest at the quest NPC

well i might have done that already so i don't think thats it but i could be wroung so lets check.
A)how many quests are in the quests NPC list
and
B)if you accept the quest do you have to go to Delta Hidden Forbidden Tree of the Dead(Its the lost ground where you first meet Kuhn and Endrance)

I'm stuck on the last twinblade and a few in the middle
the last steam gun you can trade off of a player i'd tell you his name but I don't know how to input JIS on my linux box
I found him in kestrel 's @home i'll see if I can write his name down and scan it
You can also get the last spear from a trade but I don't remember from who

Anyone knows where to get the very last twin blade? I thought that killing Cere..something, you know the big boss for Abyss quest, would give it, but nope u.u

What about the PK Hunter blacklist? If I recall correctly (played through the english version just recently) once you kill all 7 of the blacklister PKers, you get a twin blade called the Ripper's Blade. I believe that was the last Twin Blade on the list before the type changed...
I've beaten the whole game without a problem but I can't find all of the Monsters. Can someone give me Keywords so that I can complete the Ryu Book of 1000? I would really apreciate it. I just can't get all the items either. Can anyone also give me a website where I can get this info? Thank you!

You can unlock Abys quest by looking in the forums, you'll find one that mentions an area with a chest that won't open and it will give you the area words. Go to the area and defeat the enemies that appear after the brief scene. Next return to the forums to find another strange post, respond to it and check back to get the areas, repeat the process of the first area. The third area is just like the first 2 so just follow the same steps. With these done you'll get an e-mail saying you've unlocked Abyss's quest, a hidden quest in a lv47 area where you have to fight Conennus (not sure of name). The fight is pretty rough if you haven't got your party at the lv50 cap yet. He has 4000 HP and high defense, luckily his attacks are almost all physical so you can use turtle shells to make the fight easier. The only attack to watch out for is an attack where he hits everyone close to him that launches the hit party members across the field and into the boundary.
Also you get a nice piece of armor called Black Armor as well as 5000 GP for the victory and then +25 HP +25 SP and +3 ATP for completing the quest,

Took me 45+ hrs. and having to buy the guide so I knew what I was missing, but I've completed everything but one item...the Body Egg I believe it was. If anyone knows where to find this final item I would deeply appreciate it <3
Oh and b4k4ni04, if you post your monster list I can at least give you the level of the remaining monsters so you can pick the appropriate area words, or if I can find them I can give you the words I used.

I found that the only way to complete the Ryu books to be very careful in checking the vendors.. they have the odd items that you might spend a great deal of time looking for otherwise.
As for many of the weapons and armor, when I finally figured out what my error was, I felt really silly.
They are the low level stuff that you buy in the basic weapon and armor store. I went there, bought the low level stuff, went back and zing, the last 40 points were done and gone.
I don't know if I have gotten to EVERY monster, but I did complete all the Ryu books and the guild is at level 3 -- it took a while with the monsters as I had levelled up quickly and had to go and do the lower level areas to find so many of them.
As for the TWIN BLADES -- yes, you get them when you complete the Chaotic PK list for the Bounty Hunter quest... and they are very very nice.
I'm not as impressed with the Black Armor -- draining SP to increase other parameters is all well and good, but it's a fast drain, relatively speaking and that means lots of replenishing during the fight and inbetween fights, not sure it's worth it.
As for that Hidden quest.. do you mean the one where you kill Cerennunos? The one that had prior quests with the NPC who said that Haseo was "Marked" to be a sacrifice and bring Cerennunos back into the world and make the world one place, so to speak, with no barrier between life and death? THAT hidden quest?
If not, please give more information... I haven't done any other quests that were hidden in any way.
I still have 14 regular PKs to prevent to complete that quest, I just make sure I got into a modeately decent level berserker area... when I try level 1 areas, I get the player against mobs and a waste of time. LOL, I accidentally triggered Greedy Cervantes back when I was level 20 or so, and had a long wait before I could proceed on that... I thought I'd get ahead of it, but they're done now, and when you finish the list, not only do you get the nice twin blades, but you also get praise in the forums.
What I can't find is ONE LAST HUMAN MALE for Bikman's damn annoying quest with no real rewards and I'm about to give up. I've been to the arena area so many times, and back and forth to Kestrel's area and to Moon Tree's area, as the guide suggests.. that got me a few that I had been missing, but ONE MALE HUMAN keeps alluding me. If anyone completed this quest, let me know and I tell me where to find that last damn guy... I can provide his name if anyone else has been having the same problem, might be the same guy.
Human male. damnit. For all that work you'd think the rewards would better... killing seven PK'ers, easy kills all, gets me a great set of twinblades, but handing out stupid flyers and searching for boring hours gets crap all :(
It's been out in Japan for months now since September. How long are we going to have to wait?
And PLEASE can they include the real audio track with subtitles for those of us who prefer our anime and anime-based games as they were meant to be? To enjoy the inflections and the voices that are so carefully chosen? Anime dubbed is an oxymoron, an ugly bastardization of a beautiful art form -- usually, it has its share of bad content, poorly made anime, as well -- but so much of it is great, as long as it isn't dubbed.
WHEN is the next game coming out, dammit? Anyone have an approximation? Why do we have to wait so much longer than the Japanese? :((

well this thread is pretty old so we were all playin the imported version thats why we couldn't figure it out
