.hack//G.U. vol.1: The Rebirth is the first (of the three) video game series that will continue .hack's irresistable edge to online playing with a modem ^_~

The first game will include:
Terminal disc, which will unlock special content when all three games are completed.
Personally...I would cry ;_;. Seems kind too long of a time to wait to see goodies since we don't know when the other two games will be released.

Saved data from one of the previous .hack games will enable gamers to access an e-mai received from BlackRose in .hack//G.U.
It is said that if you also have saved data from .hack//fragment...gamers will receive an email from Hokuto. These wont effect gameplay at all but for fanatics...it matters.
Also, .hack//fragment was only released in Japan. So I have no idea how people in the U.S. will be able to get that e-mail from Hokuto. =/

Due to a fire at CC Corp, The MMORPG "The World" had to be shut down. CC Corp. salvaged some of the data and created a new version of the game.. "The World: R 2" which happens to be where .hack//G.U. series takes place. Many players from the original game "The World" quit the game after learning that their old character data had been destroyed. Guilds take a huge role in "The World: R 2".
There is also a raid of PK'ers (Player Killers)

.hack//G.U. vol.1: Rebirth, tells the story of eight players as they progress through two stages, the real world and "The World R:2" each seemingly linked to one of the eight phases.
