well first of all when you type in something it doesn't show up for a few min(or even at all)

and most importantly it doesn't even show up for me just a nice clean white space

It's quite easy to set one up, actually. I've done it twice for a forum I run.

@Styson: well, I'm not saying it's hard, I'm just saying it's troublesome. it's like mouse clicking is more troublesome than keyboard typing.

How's it troublesome? It takes about 5 minutes to set up...

then I would have to login once in a while, change the annoucement once in a while(3+1 places I have to post a message on on a release), manage the users once in a while... when people start to ask why I have an IRC channel but no XDCC bots, I would have to explain how poor I am...

an unofficial one would make more sense, set up by users, managed by users, anh, just a thought.

Well I need people to make up their mind on which server to run, I prefer Undernet cause it's stable and huge, but I dunno the prefs people have around here. btw, there's a java chatroom that runs on IRC, that way the IRC channel and the chat would be syncronized, just a thought.

-fyi, just a suggestion about that bandai warning, next time don't include the name of your website in the torrent's filename. Watermarks I understand, I'd just think if you didn't want to get caught, to keep the name out. I doubt anything will happen, company's say crap all the time and never back it up, they're just trying to scare people.

@survient: hmm... the intension of fansub is to share, not to pirate(or steal), if the copyright holder specifically asks me(or fansubbers in general) to stop distributing, I will comply. I've decided to continue on .hack//roots is because it's still not readily available to non-Japanese fans, even though it has been licensed. so I didn't think keeping the name hidden is necessary. besides, I do need a way to identify myself. as long as people can see that, they can always google me up, no matter what name I use.

I'm just saying if you're worried about getting caught, which you're not. I just hope you're not painting a target for yourself by doing it. If I could fansub, or whatever it is, I would, but I don't have the time, so I do it by seeding as much as possible. I think pirating/sharing, whathaveyou, is a lot like the right to bear arms, highly disputed. There's good points for both sides. One for dvds in general that drives me crazy is that you have to spend over $300 just for one season of a show of decent length. If that's not being robbed blindly, I don't know what is, especially considering  it costs less than 25 cents to make one DVD.
