I've read the FAQ, but I still don't really understand how to view the files. Could anyone help please?

Easy way use vlc.

Get it here
http://www.videolan.org/

only thing is you'll have problems viewing the karaoke subtitles(they'll overlap)

@luperry: I download all the things the FAQ says to, but it still says it's un-able to play.

Okay, I downloaded the VLC Player but I'm not sure how to get the file to play. I downloaded the file from the link on the front page. It downloads in about a second... And it won't play.

@styson: OK, I just updated the FAQ page:

Q: Which media player can open .torrent files...?
A: Well... probably none. You need a BitTorrent client to use the torrent file to download the actual video file, μTorrent is a good choice if you are using Windows, otherwise, consider Azureus

Ok  so have you tryed 2 make some room in your pc and tryed 2 remove some old episodes or burn them on a CD, so it worked but with no subtitles O.O

Ex: burn episode hack roots on CD then play it on DVD but there is no subz???????

try another episode but from a nother series like naruto for example and it works on

DVD and with subz.

so what is the problem with the hack roots episodes ?!?!?!?!

@O.o: ummmm....ok let me make some sense of this

By dvd do you mean
DVD Video
Data DVD

If you don't know the difference
You could probably only fit 3 - 5 eps on each DVD video
You could fit the whole series on 1 or 2 Data DVD

And by DVD player are you referring to one that is connected to your computer or to a TV

And just for future reference we all know that z is a very lonely letter but it has no place taking the job of s

what i meant is that my English is not that good

2 what i mean is that i want to burn my episodes on a CD useing a CDwriter
so i could watch them on my DVD full screen TV :)

but the problem is that i need to convert it to AVI  so i did

then i burned them on a cd wich can only fit 3 episodes and it worked

then i went down to my full screen TV and played it on my DVDplayer and it played

BUT the subtitles disappeared !

NON of the episodes have subtitles   SO WHAT HAPPEND ?

ok this is what I thought you meant
since the subtitles are optional they were not added
what you'll need to do is demux the MKV into the video, audio, and subtitle files
Then mux all those files back into an avi
There are alot of ways to do this search google for MKV Demuxer and AVI Muxer

@Anonymous: read the documentation, and trial and error

no one knows how to use it at the beginning. when I first used it, I didn't even have a nice GUI(graphical user interface) to play with, I had to use the command line mkvtools. Cool

i dont think you understand what i ment

i want the video, sound and sub titles all mixed together so i can burn the episode on
a cd to watch it on my DVD and 2 make some room on my computer

but because the subs are optional THEY CANT BE SAVED ON THE CD
SO I ENDED UP WASTING A CD WITH 3 EPISODES WITH NO SUBTITLES Cry

@Anonymous: of course I understand. Cool

softsubs won't show up on a DVD player, because the subs weren't part of the video from the beginning, normal conversion programs will just ignore it. two ways to do it if you wanna use your DVD player, hardsub it, or convert the subtitles to VOB format.

however, both methods are quite complicated, so I can't assist you on that as I doubt I'll have the time and patience to do so. I'm merely helping you to get mkvtoolz installed so you can begin experimenting with all the different methods(if you wish to do so, that is), because it is essentially the first step.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you simply want to watch it on a bigger screen, you can just connect your computer to your TV, that's what I do at home.

@Anonymous: I was in your shoe awhile back. Have you gotten anything done since then? What you want for MKVtoonix instead of the commandline toolbox is the GUI interface they have for mkvextract, I can post the link, I just don't want to beat around the bush. I can take you through the steps from going from mkv to video cd with subtitles that are hardsubbed(which is what you'd want).
