Moved

It's been a while since my last status update. Embarassed

I moved to a new apartment last September (was quite a pain), and spent the rest of the year furnishing my place. Now it's fairly complete and comfy.

Other than the air conditioner, I had to get everything, including the curtain, the ceiling light, and my own washing machine. I can't imagine how I'll be able to move out of here with all the stuff I have now...

I know this comment is a little late and off topic, but did you find it difficult to get your visa? I'm leaving for Japan, original plan to go to university and work part time (hopefully I'm able to do both) leaving sometime late spring to early summer, so I'm getting things wrapped up right now.

Also, ya it has been a while since you've given a status update, the place looks nice!

:) Well Lu... Better do everything possible to not have to move out or get a place that will move ALL your stuff for you >_>

@Anonymous: It was pretty painless. I went with a working holiday visa (valid for 1 year), which took me about 1 weeks. Then I got my current 3 years working visa in less than 2 weeks, though I was told that it may take up to 2 months.

@Vanek PI: I never left Tokyo during my time here, but it's quite good. Some things are more convenient, (like getting anime goods, commuting, and shopping), while some are not, (like getting an apartment and banking).

@luperry: thanks for the info, seems university is scratched off the list for a year, too expensive.  (I'll have to save up) now I'm leaving in June I guess. Should be in the Tokyo area but not Tokyo itself, I'm not ready to pay scary rent fees for apartments v_v (my Japanese is still crappy too, I'll be studying my butt off when I get there T_T) ttyl Lu~

Is this apartment still in tokyo? or another area now?

How much was the rent from your original place to the current one now? Im just trying to get a idea about how much the rent is compared to the size room you get =D

@Anonymous: it's not in the 23 wards, but in Metro Tokyo (Niiza in Saitama, to be precise), about 3 minutes away from my last place.

my old place was a single room at a guest house with no private kitchen nor bathroom, but all utilities are included in the rent, and fully furnished (bed, desk, chair, shelf, etc.), it was 55000 yen a month.

my new place is a normal apartment (called a "mansion" here) with a private kitchen and bathroom, utilities are not included, not furnished, and it's 75000 yen a month.

woooooooow 75000 yen?? thats about 815 a month in dollars o_o, your job MUST be paying good, considering its the apartment PLUS the utilities. -_-

Yes, it does look quite comfy! I dread the thought of moving just because we have so much stuff. How does it happen that we acquire so much stuff?!
